Our customers say that performing ab roll-outs on the versatile SMITHSHAPER® SQUATX® or Ab Squat Roller™ do not compare to using any single or dual-wheel ab roller or abdominal wheel (ab wheel). This is because Ab wheels and ab rollers do not provide the necessary stability for most people to accomplish ab rolls without sufficient strength to begin with. The SmithShaper Story

Louis Morales
CEO

Louis Morales , a co-inventor of six patents, brings over 20 years of product development and marketing experience to the SmithShaper team. Louis is also an active amateur beach volleyball player and coach.

Louis became involved in the infancy of the SmithShaper Exerciser concept in late 2015 when he teamed with Marcus Smith, a former body builder. Marcus, wanted to find a safe way to perform squats at home in limited space. In early 2015, Marcus had his first working prototype. Around that time, Louis was searching for a rolling wall squat device to target his leg muscles in a way that would lesson stress and strain to his one "football" knee. This led Louis right to Marcus. Before you knew it, the two became partners and formed SmithShaper LLC in the fall of 2015.

Louis worked with Marcus to refine the design and led the effort to reconfigure the axles and update the prototype with special non-marking wheels so the device would be safe to use on fine walls or floors and roll smoothly and quietly for additional exercises. SmithShaper teamed with Louis' ZOBOAPPS firm to design the now registered SmithShaper® trademark, brand, website and marketing materials. Louis then worked to complete the patent application Marcus initiated in 2014. A U.S. patent was granted to SmithShaper LLC in April, 2018 for the invention of the SmithShaper multipurpose exerciser.

While testing the SmithShaper® Ab Squat Roller™ device with various certified trainers, the SmithShaper team (including Tiffany Morales, a former two-sport NCAA athlete) developed multiple exercise applications for the device. Tiffany said "we realized in our testing that the SmithShaper Ab Squat Multipurpose Exerciser is hands down better than any other rolling workout platform due to its versatility." Louis added, "No form of single or dual wheel abdominal rolling exerciser, ab roller, ab wheel, or sliding board can compare."

Louis then asked, "can you place your forearms on an ab wheel when doing ab rolls? Can you place both feet on an ab roller and perform SmithShaper Core Crushers, SmithShaper Hamstring Curls or SmithShaper Sideways Jackknives? Can you do mountain climbers, ice skaters or lunges on an ab wheel? Can you wear an ab wheel and do perfect posture wall squats? As you see, the answer is "no" for these other devices."

In 2019, Marcus decided to leave the business and Louis became CEO of SmithShaper LLC. Louis believes customers are beginning to understand the value represented by the SMITHSHAPER® brand. According to the new CEO, these values include the freedom to workout anywhere, indoors or outdoors, portability, exercise variety, exercise effectiveness, and durability. Louis convinced me that SMITHSHAPER® exercisers can address the goals of many who embark upon a fitness quest. Whether the goal is to tone and shape, build and strengthen muscles, jump higher, increase balance, enhance ones core, increase mobility, or protect and build up the ligaments and muscles around previously injured joints, SmithShaper exercise equipment can help.

SmithShaper® exercisers continue to provide more value compared to single use exercisers. In other words, SMITHSHAPER delivers more exercises per dollar spent when compared to other portable devices. "This is the primary differentiator between the SmithShaper Ab Squat Roller (25 exercises), SmithShaper® SQUATX® (37 to 50 exercises) and all of our other products compared to limited functionality exercise equipment," said Louis.

In late 2022, Louis was excited to share how the SMITHSHAPER LLC product line continues to evolve. "With the new SQUATX® Max 85-Exercise System comes some serious versatility. However, what's revolutionary are the combination exercises that are part of our new exercises system. Besides exercise freedom a and exercise versatility, SMITHSHAPER LLC now has his its eyes set on exercise productivity." The latest SMITHSHAPER products enable a person to use a single device (or two compatible devices) and simultaneously perform combination exercises impacting upper and lower body muscles groups. With the SQUATX® for example, a person can do rolling wall squats and resistance band chest presses at the same time. This is because the rolling SQUATX exerciser is equipped with resistance band connectors that allow for self- anchored resistance band exercises. The SQUATX is a combination exerciser that enables both rolling body weight resistance exercises and resistance band exercises.

Depending upon the chosen SmithShaper exerciser or exercise system, between sixteen and eighty-five different exercises can be performed. SmithShaper customers have let us know that the SmithShaper® PRO / FIT ASR, SQUATX™, SQUATX MAX 85-Exercise System™, TR-BAR™, and TR-BAR-Plus™ multipurpose exercisers / systems, do makes a difference. In July, 2023 Louis' implemented his design of the robust SQUATX Exercise App for iOS and Android smart phones. The SQUATX app allows users to easily target specific muscles, select exercise and exercise work cycle quantities, work cycle durations, and the rest durations between exercise cycles and exercises sets. SQUATX app users will be able to play back motion videos during their routine. This would include any SMITHSHAPER exercises that aligns with the SMITHSHAPER exercise equipment they own as long as exercise was selected as part of their custom Workout of the Day (WoD). And each WoD can be saved.

According to Amazon and eBay reviews, customers do give SMITHSHAPER LLC high marks on their workout kneeling pads as well. This includes the SmithShaper® Super Pad™ Thick Exercise Kneeling Pad and the SmithShaper® Squat Mat™ Knee Mat , These eco-friendly nitrile rubber exercise kneeling pads effectively provide comfort during workouts. They are used to cushion knees, forearms, elbows, and other body parts when performing exercises such as ab rollouts, planks, knee push-ups, etc..
